Let’s do a meme! Pop a comment below, and I’ll either tell you something that always makes me think of you, or tell you something that one of the recent public posts on your journal reminds me of.
If you can’t think of what to say in your comment, just put a “.” or your username.
If you want my reply to you to be private, put “private please” in your comment and I’ll screen it, which will make it and all replies visible only to you and me (though others will be able to see your initial comment until I see your request for privacy).

[0] It mainly makes me think (a) I bet I’m going to be in charge of cutting up the turnip cake again, and (b) how am I going to persuade the newbies that we have to eat the fried dough cheung fun before it goes soggy.

(I know we don't know each other that well but at least I have plenty of recent public entries to comment upon. :) )

Your bus woes remind me of how terrible the bus service was when I lived in Wales. Sometimes the bus stops wouldn’t even be marked — you just had to somehow know where the buses stopped and what time they came. I’m still amazed at how great the buses in London are in comparison.

There used to be a point where I could only really distinguish two types of English accents — posh and non-posh — whereas I could tell with great accuracy exactly which Welsh valley someone was from.

Whenever I go past that dome on North End I remember you asking about it at one of the early Croydon Fun Weekends.
And your latest post on interfaith study reminded me of an interfaith event my chapel took me to when I was a kid. There were talks by various Jewish people and then we could ask questions, and I remember someone asking about converting and being told that wasn’t a thing, because why would anyone want to be Jewish when Jews were so badly persecuted, and in any case Jews were chosen, not made. That confused me for ages, but then again so did a lot of things relating to chapel.

Something that reminds me of you (to turn it around) is being very drunk - because on the evening when I was the drunkest I have ever been, in our first year at college, you looked after me and fed me toast and let me crash in your room, and I really appreciated that.

(Am I allowed to say that paper plates occasionally remind me of you, for similarly college-related reasons?)
Rainbow-coloured things make me think of you, particularly if they’re associated with something extremely joyful and/or enthusiastic.

And yes, ditto! I think I forgot to tell you that I didn’t see your Croydon Fun Weekend text until I’d actually seen you in the flesh — I think you sent it about 1 or 2 minutes after I decided nobody else was going to turn up so put my phone away in order to make more room on the table.
My health is still a bit dodgy at the moment, but maybe once it improves we could have another go at Tai Tung dim sum?

(The pancit was from Kubo, and I had it with a fried egg and pork adobo.)

I tried a new cafe today — Cafe Faith in Delta Point near West Croydon bus station. The owners were so nice!

Now that my financial situ is more stable, it would be nice to have a Croydon lunch at some point and maybe we can go there (or another place!) depending of course on your schedule :)

Interesting hand-made books make me think of you. In fact I was at a craft meet the other week talking to someone who used to work in the art world, and when they mentioned books-that-are-art I could say I knew someone who made them :)
